Residents of New Basti Mahmoodpur in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar are struggling with severe sanitation issues as garbage has accumulated on the streets and inside drainage channels. Locals allege that the ward councillor has shown complete negligence, causing daily movement to come to a standstill.


Streets Filled With Waste After Heavy Rainfall

According to the residents:

  • Heavy rains caused drains to overflow
  • Garbage and waste spilled onto the roads
  • Multiple areas are filled with foul-smelling sludge and dirt

The condition has become so serious that young children are unable to go to school, while elderly residents are confined to their homes due to the unsafe and unhygienic surroundings.


Repeated Complaints, But No Action Taken

Local people claim that they have repeatedly informed:

  • The ward councillor
  • Municipal officers
  • Municipality chairman

However, despite several complaints, no action has been taken so far by any public representative or municipal authority. Residents say the lack of response has only worsened their frustration.


Councillor Promises Resolution Soon

Ward councillor Rajkumar Kanaujia stated that he has already informed the relevant municipal officials about the situation. He assured residents that the issue will be addressed soon and that efforts will be made to restore normalcy.


Locals Express Deep Concern

Residents including Sagar Sonkar, Ramesh Sonkar, and Dilip Sonkar expressed strong concern over the deteriorating cleanliness and increasing health risks.
They demand immediate action from the authorities to clear the waste and ensure smooth movement in the area.
